Agregation

I took the main elements for my idea and broke them down into lines. The purple is air flow, Blue water, and Red light. The more major lines of connection are darker. The more Concentrated the lines and the linewieght defines important elements of that part of the composition. for example there is a high concentration around the area of the bathroom and light in the kitchen area

THis is a rough Sketch of my idea for the quarantine unit. the weaves are a way to harvest water and wind for energy and provide water and air for the individual. the weaves continue underneath the unit and to the roof to process and harvest evern more.

the location of the site is perfect for harvesting wind and water energy. The Mississippi River is a powerful body of water and can produce large amounts of energy that can be used in the facility. Also the wind that comes off the river, especially during storms like we experienced, that enegy can be harvested to power the quarantine facility. Also the rain water frequently experienced in our area could help power the Facility as well

Here is a quick flyer for the product. A quick glimpse to give the basic information to consumers.

The Product

I decided to go with a more fashionable approach and turned to braiding to keep the polypropelyne together. This did away with cotton but gives the garment the flexibility to be warm and to be cooler. In the middle of the scarf is a roll out filter to offer more protection. It snaps into a rolled postion so that the user doesn't ever realize its there. it unrolls to better protect and still looks fasionable

The Model

I opted for the first site model to be one I could abuse. I made a plaster mold of my face and neck. With the remaining plaster I created the rest of the head and shoulders using newspaper and a hair wrap used in coloring. The baldness of the site created a need for hair to be used. The only color wig I could find was a St. Patrick's Day green wig. The model turned out well and I learned to use new resources effectively.

ANTHRAX

Anthrax is caused by the bacteria Bacillus Anthracis. It is found mainly in farm animals that consume it from the grass that they eat. It is then transferred to people either through touching the infected animal's carcass, spores attached to the animals fur, or through ingesting the meat of the animal. The disease is extremely deadly if not caught early.

I chose to address the airborne form. It is the most deadly way of infection. It begins with flu-like symptoms and then escalates to severe respiratory collapse. This form of Anthrax is extremely fatal even if caught early. This type of Anthrax is caused by inhaling spores, not by contact with an infected person. Any delay of treatment could make this disease untreatable. treatment should begin even if no symptoms present themselves. Death can occur two days to a month after initial exposure. The quickness of death is the reason it was used in 2001 as a biological terror weapon and the reason it should be feared in case of future use.

Anthrax responds well to antibiotics and there is a vaccine, but it is only given to military and high risk individuals.
